1909 EDWARDIAN SOLID SILVER NOVELTY TEDDY BEAR CRUETS. A superb pair of Edwardian solid silver novelty Teddy Bear salt and pepper cruets. Both fully hallmarked to their bottoms for Birmingham 1909 with the lion passant for sterling silver. Both also bear the maker’s mark Henry Williamson Ltd. The heads are detachable and are also stamped with the lion passant and the date letter’k’ for 1909, so are original to the bases. The hallmarks to the bottom of one cruet are rubbed, but still readable – please see pictures. They are in very good condition with some minor indentions to their bottoms due to use, and wear consistent with the age of the pieces, which are now 112 years old. Both sit upright with no leaning. They are great quality with textured fur and faces that make them look very life like. Adorable little bears, very highly sought after, especially as a pair of antique cruets. They measure 6cms in height and the two together weigh 23gms. They will be very carefully packaged and sent tracked and signed. International buyers are welcome.
