A pair of silver salts, two Viking ships with decorative dragon heads. Made by David Andersen, Norway’s most famous silversmith. A typical Scandinavian design in 830 standard silver, a standard used in Scandinavian countries up until the 1970s. These salts were made between 1885 and 1925, as they have the Andersen mark for that period. One of the marks is quite clear, the other is all be obliterated, but is the same. Overall condition is good, nodents, a few black marks which would benefit from a clean (I have only slightly cleaned to ensure the gilding is preserved). The gilding is worn but still intact, better on one salt than on the other. All circlets the mouthes of one the dragon heads are intact. The salts measure approx. 38 x 77 x 25 mm, one and a half inches by three inches by one inch. The combined weight is 30.5 grams.
