A substantial antique sterling silver novelty pepperpot in the form of a watering can made by Thos Johnson and hallmarked for London 1879. It is in very good condition and made with a good gauge of silver. Hallmarks are clearly struck to the lid and the base. It also has the stamp of Jenners & Knewstub of St James St, London who held several Royal warrants. Using the upper handle the top depresses and reveals an opening to fill with pepper.
