A rare and very interesting solid silver pepper, pounce, or spice pot. It is hallmarked with the 900 standard mark and makers mark of Martin Mayer of Mainz Germany. I would date it to the early Art Deco era c1910. Martin Mayer employed some of the best designers around this time so it may be rather important. It has been unusually made in the form of an elephant with glass base and silver head. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits and repairs, the glass is free from chips cracks and repairs. The lid fits sure and the inside is perfectly clean. It is a good sized example measuring almost 2.75 inches (6.8cms) tall by 2 inches wide (trunk to back) and weighs 72 grams. A very unusual and interesting piece. If you have any queries etc… To see lots more rare and beautiful silver. All items are cleaned and display ready should you be a retailer or collector, or ready to wrap should you be purchasing a gift. That way we save you time and we discover any faults, not you.
