VICTORIAN ANTIQUE SILVER EARLY PEPPER MILL/GRINDER. This is a late 19th-century (1889) solid sterling silver pepper mill, of traditional churn form. The grinding mechanism is original to the pepper mill, made by the reputable’Peugeot Freres Brevetes S. It is fully hallmarked. Each piece hallmarked in 4 places – on the body, the lid, the bolt and bottom fastener. No monogram but each has a lovely heraldic griffin. All components intact and original. A rare early piece of genuine Victorian 129 year old antique silver pepper mill. John Grinsell & Sons. Base diameter: 5cm (2). Height: 7.8cm (3 1/8) approx.
