Beautiful pair of Victorian sterling silver salts / peppers, fully hallmarked for London 1895. This is a lovely pair of silver peppers made in London by Josiah Williams in 1895. The salt / peppers have pull of domed lids with fine pierced and chased decoration. The peppers have gadrooned bands around the centre and swirling leaves and flowers. The peppers are 1-3/8 inches / 35 mm in diametre and they stand 3-3/4 inches / 96 mm high. They weigh 105 grams. Both peppers have clear and matching hallmarks to both the bases and the lids – lion passant, London mark, letter U for 1895 and maker’s mark GMJ for Josiah Williams. The peppers are in excellent condition with no dents, damage or repair.
