For your consideration a sterling silver English hallmarked pair of salts and spoons contained within their original presentation case, and dating to the late nineteenth century. Please view the pictures above as they hopefully show all in detail. The salt pots are hallmarked with the makers mark’F. T’ for Frederick William Turton, the anchor for Birmingham, the date letter, I believe’u’ for 1894, and the lion denoting sterling silver. The spoons have the makers mark’C. C’ for Colen Hewer Cheshire, the lion denoting sterling silver, the date letter’t’ for 1893, and the anchor for Birmingham. It’s not unusual for pieces in such sets to be a year or so apart. Quite a petite set and shown in one picture alongside a AAA battery for size comparison. The salts are 4.6 cms in diameter and the spoons are 5.1 cms long. The salts and spoons together weigh 19.5g. The case is generally good. Hinges and clasp work fine. Some wear to the outer areas. I have lots of interesting silver listed in my shop; please take a look by clicking on the shop symbol above.
