An early 19th-century (1814) English George III sterling silver caster by the Bateman family. 6 tall, baluster form with a pierced pull-off lid, and square base. The lid dated 1812 (2 years older than the pot), by Peter & William Bateman. The body by William Bateman. The lid and body fit perfectly, with the same Threaded pattern, and it closes tightly. The base is not weighted. The silver weight is 96g. The interior is in clean condition. Free from monograms or inscriptions. HALLMARKS: London, SILVER fineness 925. MAKER WB + PBWB. DIMENSION: Height: 15.2cm (6). Diameter: 5.5cm (2 1/8) approx. CONDITION : Very good condition with only minor age related wear, just a few tiny dings, no splits and no repairs.
