1809 Set of four impressive French Empire Napoleonic silver salts with their original blue liners. In glorious empirical style of a silver three legged stand having Egyptian headed terminals on lion paw feet. The four silver stands are in excellent order with originating hallmarks from France bearing hallmarks used from 19th June 1798 to 1st September 1809. Together with the british import marks of their entry into Great Britain in 1928. Each of the blue liners have recessed ground pontils. Weight: each salt weighs approx 185 grams. The blue glass liners weigh between 81 & 89 grams. Total silver content is 412 grams. French Hallmarks: are 950/1000 silver content cockerel one silver mark together with the Paris 85 guarantee mark together with a makers mark which I cannot at present identify. British import marks are Assay office: London import mark. Date letter when imported into Britain : N being 1928. The importer GS being George Stockwell & Co. In good order all silver in fine order three of the blue liners perfect. One liner with a chip to the underside edge. Please see the photos which form part of the description.
