A lovely Victorian boxed set of four. Open salts with matching spoons, by the London silversmith Horace Woodward & Co Ltd. The salts have an embossed floral pattern and vacant cartouches, they stand on three feet and have wavy edges. All the salts and spoons have matching date hallmarks and are in their original fitted box. The set is English Silver hallmarked for London 1897 (Leopard Head, Lion Passant, Date Letter b), The maker’s mark’H W & Co Ld’ refers to the silversmith. Horace Woodward & Co. Dimensions: The salts have a c4.8cm width, are c. 3cm tall and weigh c18.5g. The spoons are 5.3cm and weigh c2.8g each. Total silver weight is c83.8g. Condition: The set is in good condition, with no dings, splits or repairs. Gilding worn in the bowls of the salt spoons. The lining in the lid of the box is a little dirty.
