Friedell was an important American Arts and Crafts studio silversmith in Pasadena, California in the 20th Century. Born in New Orleans, Friedell trained in Austria as a silversmith. He worked for Gorham on the Martelé line and gained widespread acclaim as an independent silversmith in Pasadena in the early 20th century, eventually being commissioned to create the first Rose Parade trophy. His work is collected in major museums and important collections across the US. It is in overall good, as-pictured used estate condition with. Some very light edge wear, a few very fine and light indentions here and there, a few very fine and light surface scratches, and other signs of light wear consistent with normal use.
