Cased Set Of Four Victorian Silver Shell Salts By Hilliard & Thomason 1877 This is a lovely set of four Victorian silver salts, complete with spoons and in their original presentation case. The salts are shaped as half scallop shells, each resting on three dolphin feet in the British Royal Navy form. The spoons have circular bowls, twisted handles and a robed apostle figure as the finial. Each piece is fully hallmarked for silver, Birmingham, 1877 and has a makers stamp of H&T for Hilliard & Thomason. The set comes in a fitted presentation case of leatherette with blue velvet and silk lining. Dimensions The salts measure approximately 5.5cm in diameter with a height of 3cm. The spoons measure 7.5cm long. The cased set measures 23cm (9 inches) by 16.5cm (6 ½ inches) and weighs 342g. Condition The pieces are all in a very decent condition, no major dents, a few very minor dings. The case has some wear but is still in reasonably good shape.
