Rare 18thC Solid Silver Pedestal Pepperette – Ldon 1788 – William Sumner II. Is an fine quality rare 18th century pedestal pepperette assayed in London 1788 by WS (probably William Sumner II – a’smallworker registered in May 1787). It is a gorgeous urn shape, with pierced detailing to the sides a pierced push fit lid with bead border and standing on a square pedestal base. It has a blue glass liner to the interior and is hallmarked to the underside of the base. Loss to the inner edge of the liner as shown, but otherwise in remarkable condition for the age.
