These are wonderful rare antique hand painted salt cellars made by Ceramic Arts Co of Trenton, NJ, for the American Belleek Company. The Ceramic Arts Co was the earliest producer of Belleek porcelain and was founded in 1889. These pieces bare their oldest (known as the Palette mark) makers mark on the underside dating back as far as 1889 through 1896. These dates can be verified due to the fact that in 1896 the company added the Lenox name to their Palette mark. The other purple mark assures that the pieces were also, decorated at the same factory. Each of the 12 individual salt cellars presents in miraculous condition with no flaws or defects. Despite their great age, they all look perfect. They are decorated in a lovely floral design featuring pink flowers with green leaves. There is lots of gold trim and accents on each piece which also looks great on the 4 footed cellars. They stand almost 1 and a 1/4 in high and measure just about 2 in round. The total weight is 1 and a 1/2 pounds. These are special pieces which are highly collectable and quite hard to come by, especially in pristine condition. Collectors and enthusiasts alike know the value of owning an antique American made 12 piece set such as this one. Their age and condition are nothing less than remarkable.
